Using state-of-the-art computer methods, DynaTech can perform both system level and component vibration analysis to accurately determine natural frequencies, mode shapes, forced response, and stress distributions. Specific areas of our expertise include: Our core competency is the accurate prediction of the dynamics of multi-shaft rotating systems. Using our state-of-the-art analysis codes (see Engineering Software), calculations such as critical speeds, stability, and damped response are used with new designs or to diagnose problems with existing equipment. In some cases the bearings supporting rotors have more influence on dynamics than shaft configuration. We can determine properties and provide design support for all bearings and seals used with rotating equipment. General Finite Element Analysis In addition to the system level predictive capability with rotor dynamics, we are also well versed in the analysis of individual machine components, such as blades, disks, shafts, supports, and general structures using 3D finite element methods. While vibration is our focus, we can also perform stress and life calculations, including nonlinear analyses. A good example of our general FEA capabilities is with small wind turbines, which are subjected to a unique set of dynamic loads yet must be durable, light, and inexpensive to produce. We have been recognized by the California Energy Commission as an organization that can assist manufacturers with obtaining the Emerging Renewables Program (ERP) certification to the IEC 61400-2 requirements.
